Justin: If you're looking for one of the most affordable cat-backs on the site for your '05 to '09 GT or your '07 to '10 GT500 that also packs a ton of volume, well, then the Installer Series Race Version from MBRP might just be the system for you. Now, the race variant that we have here today will deliver a very aggressive tone overall, along with that 3-inch tubing and the aluminized steel construction, which will help keep that price point in check at right around 500 bucks for the cat-back. Install will be a straightforward bolt-on job. But since all of your work is done underneath the car, site's automatically gonna kick things up to a soft two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here and call it a couple of hours or so to complete from start to finish. But hang with me for a bit, guys, we'll walk you through that job later in the video. So if you didn't know, MBRP is all about options. They've got many different systems out there featuring many different materials basically for many different budgets. Now, the Installer Series that we have here today is essentially gonna be the company's entry-level offering for the GT or the GT500, thanks largely to the material used, again, that aluminized steel. They can certainly spend a little bit more and get into what is called their XP Series or their Pro Series, both of which will offer a full stainless steel build. But if you're all about keeping things as budget-friendly as possible, well, then you are certainly in the right place here with the Installer Series. But before we go any further with the build and the specs, let's talk about sound here with the race version. And honestly, this might just be the best bang for your buck or paying for your bark system out there in regards to a cat-back exhaust. Aggressive tone with plenty of volume and that nice, deep tone overall, which together is gonna be good for a very strong four out of five on my patented one to five or one to wake the neighbors scale. Now, this system is certainly gonna be one of the most unruly, one of the most aggressive, if you will, in the category. However, if you like this price point, you like what MBRP has to offer, but maybe aren't crazy about all that volume, well, you can always check out what is called the Street Version of the Installer Series here instead. Very similar price point, it's just gonna tame down the volume level overall. And again, you can find that here at AM if you are interested. As far as your build and construction is concerned, again, 3-inch mandrel-bent tubing is what you can expect with the Installer Series here for your S197.You are getting the straight-through Race Series mufflers again, allowing for all of that flow, all of that volume, which you've heard with our sound clips. And then everything is gonna exit out these large 4-inch tips here etched with that MBRP logo, of course. And those guys are actually made from 304-grade stainless steel. That's the important part after all, right? That's what you're gonna be seeing the most. So as a result, the 304-grade should keep that resistance or that rust, I should say, to an absolute minimum or eliminate it altogether. Now the rest of the system it's aluminized steel. The drawback with that is that it is more prone to corrosion over the years. And as such, MBRP is only gonna give you a limited warranty here with the Installer Series. Now, if you do spend a couple more bucks, get into an XP or even a Pro Series system at the top of the line there, you're gonna get a corresponding lifetime warranty with that. And that is something to keep in mind. Most owners out there, you know, if you live in a nice climate, you don't have to worry about that as much with the aluminized steel. But if you're the type of owner who dailies a ride, maybe you live in the Northeast, you see a lot of road salt during the winter months, something you should certainly consider as it will affect the longevity of your system. But now what do you say we shift gears, guys? Let's get into the install as promised earlier here. No cutting, no modification needed. This is a 100% bolt-on job. And just to give you a better idea of just how exactly it will go down, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown right now.Man: Tools for this install, an impact, a 17-millimeter socket, a 15-millimeter socket, a 13-millimeter socket, a 5/16 Allen bit or key, an electric ratchet or ratchet, and an exhaust hanger removal tool. Start by grabbing your 15-millimeter socket and undoing the clamps behind the H-pipe. Also taking that 15-millimeter socket, undo the clamp right before your muffler. Now grab your 13-millimeter socket and undo your exhaust hangers from the frame. And undo your secondary hanger as well. Now once you get your secondary bolt out, brace your muffler as it is gonna come down. Now we can remove the rest of our exhaust from the Mustang. Wiggle that over your axle and pull it away, and repeat those steps on the driver's side. Now, before you get our new exhaust installed, we do need to install these spacers on our panhard bracket because our exhaust has a wider diameter so we need a little space. Once again, taking your 15-millimeter socket, undo the two bolts in your panhard bracket.Taking your spacer provided in the kit, place that between your bracket and your frame as well as the bolt and flat washer, thread that through your spacer into your frame. Now grab your 17-millimeter socket and tighten your bolts down. Now take your passenger mid-pipe and place that into the clamp behind your H-pipe. Now take a kit-provided clamp, place that onto your over-axle pipe, and fit it over your rear axle, and connect it to your mid-pipe. Now, before we place our new muffler onto our Mustang, we do need to transfer our exhaust hangers. Now that your exhaust hangers are in place, take another kit-provided clamp, place that onto your muffler, and get that placed on the rest of your exhaust. And now we can bolt on our hangers to the Mustang.Reuse the factory hardware to place your hangers back onto the Mustang. Again, this is gonna call for your 13-millimeter socket. Now take your exhaust tip, place that onto your muffler, and, with a 5/16 Allen bit, tighten down your exhaust tip. And now we can tighten down all our clamps. Again, your clamps are gonna call for a 15-millimeter socket. Now repeat those steps on the driver's side. And that's gonna wrap it up for our review and install of the MBRP Installer Series Cat-Back Exhaust Race Version, fitting your '05 to '09 GT and your '07 to '10 GT500.
