    Review & Install Video

Hey, I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m going to be checking out Flowmaster’s Force II series axle-back exhaust for the 2011 and newer V6 Mustang. The Force II utilizes Flowmaster’s classic 40-series muffler to give you a sound that’s more impressive than stock, without being overly obnoxious. The end result is a great tone that gives you that classic Flowmaster pop and gurgle when coming down off the revs without any excess interior drone. Flowmaster opts to go with their 16 gauge aluminized steel with most of their kits, including their Force II, which is great for resisting corrosion. The entire kit’s finished off with these dual 4 inch polished tips, which are also removable so you can take them off and polish them up if you get them a little dirty. When it comes time to install the kit, it should only take about an hour using standard hand tools. Now let’s hear how Flowmaster’s Force II sounds compared to your factory exhaust.

See our 2011 GT Project Car Now

Signature Flowmaster Sound. Give your 3.7L V6 Mustang that unmistakable Flowmaster sound with a Force II axle-back from AmericanMuscle. The Flowmaster Force II Axle-back Exhaust with its mandrel bent tubing will greatly improve your Mustangs exhaust flow for an increase in power, and the included 60 Series Delta Flow Mufflers will improve your exhausts sound for a deep aggressive muscle car exhaust note.

Quality Construction. Constructed from durable 2.5" 409 stainless steel tubing for its corrosion resistant properties, the Flowmaster axle back features special 5" X 10" chambered 60 Series mufflers with massive 4.0" diameter polished stainless steel tips for muscle car looks and sound. As an added bonus the tips are embossed with the "Flowmaster" logo for true custom styling.

Application. This Flowmaster Force II Axle-Back exhaust system is designed to fit the 2011-2014 and newer 3.7L V6 Mustang for both great looks and great sound.

if I buy this now, about a year from now will I be able to switch it into another mustang? I have a 2013 v6 and i want to buy this axle back exhaust, I made a stupid sedition of buying my car automatic! So in 1 year I'm going to trade it in go another 2013 mustang v6 but with a manual transmission ... Will I be able to reinstall the this same axle back exhaust into my future car?

    Zedd

    • Definitely - as long as it's a 2011-2013 V6, you won't have any problems using it on your current automatic and switching it to a new manual when the time comes. Hope this helps!

Will Axle-Back increase Horsepower or is it mainly for the improved sound? What are benefits to doing all at once with a CATBACK installation?

    RichieRich

    • You will see a very minimal power gain with the axle-back, their will be a slight improvement because it will be more free flowing than the stock set up. There will be a larger gain with a catback setup however, still relatively moderate if its not paired with an aftermarket midpipe or headers as well as if the intake is still the stock, more restrictive assembly.

Hi, My 2014 is automatic. Will it be the same sound? Also, will my CAI make the sound more loud? Thanks, Benoit Tremblay, Québec

    BenoitT

    • Hello! For this Flowmaster Force II Axle-Back Exhaust we do have a video that gives an example of the sound it will create. Of course a CAI will allow more air to travel in to the engine and the Flowmasters will allow more exhaust to exit so it may change it slightly. The 60 Series Delta Flow Mufflers will improve your exhausts sound for a deep aggressive muscle car exhaust note!

Do these add hp by any chance?

    Stang82

    • Axle-back mufflers generally do not have an affect on power numbers since there is not enough back pressure built up at the mufflers to free up any horsepower.

I had these installed by my mechanic so I can't tell you about the installation. The sound is awesome!! I love these mufflers...not too aggressive but they definitely make my V6 sound like a muscle car.

      Good sound

Takes an hour or less to install, and the sound is much better than stock. No drone and they don't sound like flatulence cans.

      Great sound

Was a little concerned at first about it not being loud enough or making a difference from the stock exhaust, but with a cold air intake it makes the perfect muscle car sound for a V6. Especially once you hit over 2k-3k rpm. Installation probably took a little over an hour. Great product, and easy install!

      Don't waste your money

Just took off my pype bomb axle back due to rattling noises that wouldn't go away and replaced it with this flowmaster kit. I hate it. Biggest waste of money ever. For those of you who think it's "loud" I want to know if your hearing is ok. This is the quietest exhaust I have ever heard. I'm really disappointed. I had flowmaster on my 07 and it was great. Just a shame really. I liked me pype bombs better. This sounds almost the same as the stock exhaust which is also very quiet.

V6 SOUNDS LIKE A MUSCLE CAR NOW

First of all the order was on my doorstep before I knew it. Very fast shipping even with standard shipping. The factory clamps have a tab on them which were hard to break. Getting the first one hung and more importantly aligned took longer than expected. The second one, popped into place the first time with perfect alignment. The sound is deep and mellow. 25 to 35 hundred rpm it sounds like a beast. Very satisfied.

      Great sound exceeded expectations

I had these installed a few weeks ago, and they far exceeded my expectations. Not as cheap as some; sounds like a V-8 (unless you compare them side by side). Low rumble at startup/idle, not too loud at cruise (no drone), and roars with a pretty muscular sound when you step on it. Haven't smiled so much while driving since I was a youngster. If you're willing to spend a little more, these are definitely worth it. It's like driving a different car! (Coupled with a BAMA tune and a CAI, of course).

      Underwhelming

These mufflers are only a little bit better than the OEM. Louder, sure. More aggressive, sure. Worth what I paid? Not at ALL. I read many reviews saying these were TOO loud, having owned a mustang that was too loud myself (because they were glass packs) I understand this, but seeing these flowmasters are chambered my thoughts were this should be right in the middle of too loud and OEM but they aren't they are only a few notches above OEM. I fully regret buying these. sometimes I can't even tell that I have aftermarket mufflers unless I floor it. They have good tone and I like the sound but when I start the car there is no thrill or excitment to them. Just me squinting thinking. "Ya I think I can tell a difference."

      Not a bad sound

I bought and installed this item recently. I read a lot of reviews on the product before I actually made the purchase. The product was just as other customers reviewed it. Installation was very easy and the sound is pretty decent. The installation of both pipes took approximately an hour. It took that long because the stock exhaust were still stuck in place even though the clamp was removed and the little welded area cut free. Its not a 5.0 mustang sound but it's enough to get noticed when you apply decent pressure to the accelerator. The only issue I had was that both of the stainless steel polished tips were damaged. They both had dents in them. I'm a bit disappointed that American Muscle could ship out products with very visibly damage. Despite the damage, I still went ahead and installed them. After all, they'll be underneath the car, so no one will be able to readily see the damage.

      Easy Home Installation

Did this easy installation in my garage in an hour; if you don't count the hour it took to get the OEM mufflers/pipes off of my Mustang. Instructions from FlowMaster were excellent, simple to understand and concise. I couldn't be happier with the exhaust note; barely louder than stock when needed to avoid tickets or dirty looks from other drivers/pedestrians. BUT give it some gas and the exhaust note brings a smile to my face every time.

      Amazing

the more I look at other exhausts the more I love these. all the other exhausts such as bassani make it sound like an import, not a muscle car. Besides a muffler delete, these are probably the loudest axle-backs available. I hope thin helped!

      flowmaster axle-back

Removing the stock exhaust stinks as they fit tight..... using silicone spray recommended by other reviewers really helps!! It took a couple of hours but well worth it. I have a convertible so road and exhaust noise is an issue these give the car a muscle sound with out the drone and popping. Diffidently worth it.

      WHAT AN AWESOME PRODUCT!!!!

EXCELLENT! Kudos to Flowmaster for this exhaust. I have had several vehicles with Flowmasters installed and this exhaust is by far the best one! My son and I installed them in less than and hour in my garage. The sound is incredible. Looks very cool with the 4" polished tips.
