    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m breaking down Pypes’ Pype Bomb super system Cat-Back exhaust, fitting all 2005-2010 Mustang GTs. If you’re looking for quite possibly one of the most aggressive systems available for your 281, for a price that’s very reasonable, look no further than the Pype Bomb Super System. This Cat-Back is constructed using durable 409 grade stainless steel, and features mandrel bends throughout. This kit also utilizes two straight through design M80 Bullitt mufflers, that are mounted directly after the Mid Pipe, and it absolutely screams, thanks a large part to these massive 4” resonator tips. There isn’t a single baffle used anywhere on this entire system, so it’s going to give you that super aggressive tone we just mentioned, it’s also going to reduce a lot of back pressure which will make for some nice top end gains, with minimal effect on your low end torque. When it comes time for the install, leave yourself about two hours to get everything bolted up properly, using standard hand tools. Now let’s hear how the Pypes Pype Bomb Super System Cat-Back sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

Increase in Performance and Sound. Bolting on a Pypes "Pype Bomb" Super System Cat-Back Exhaust to a stock 2005 to 2010 GT or Bullitt will yield an instant 5 to 10 horsepower gain at the rear wheels. It features two of Pypes high flow M-80 Bullet Style Mufflers for the ultimate in unrestricted flow and power gains for a deeper throaty tone.

Aggressive Throaty Sound. The Pypes "Pype Bomb" Super System Cat-Back features two high flow straight-through M-80 Bullet Mufflers that are mounted directly after the Mid Pipe, instead of after the axle, to produce an aggressive deep throaty muscle car tone with the help of the same stainless steel resonator tips that Pypes uses on their "Pype-Bomb" Axle-Back Exhaust kit.

Quality Materials. This Pypes "Pype Bomb" Super System Cat-Back Exhaust system is constructed from free flowing mandrel bent 2.5" 409 stainless steel tubing and features two Pypes M-80 Bullet straight-through mufflers for an aggressive throaty sound. The whole system is finished off with a set of 4" polished 304 stainless steel resonator tips for modern Muscle Car styling.

Application. The Pypes "Pype Bomb" Super System Cat-Back Exhaust kit is specifically designed to simply bolt-on to the existing stock H-Pipe of the 2005-2010 4.6L GT or Bullitt Mustang for more power and a louder more aggressive sound.

Technical Note: Americanmuscle recommends adding the 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit from the drop down option above, to provide more strength, stability and a cleaner installed appearance. If you have a 2007 Mustang you may need the kit for correct installation.

I'm going to be installing this with JBA longtube headers and shorty h pipe with high-flow cats. (Currently I have stock exhaust with Pypes muffler delete axle back) Is this going to be much louder? Do the M80 mufflers reduce sound enough to equal out any increase from the headers and high flow cats?

    • The Pypes Pype-Bomb Super System Cat-Back Exhaust will give an exhaust note that is slightly louder than your current setup when paired with long tubes and a catted X pipe. The M80 Mufflers will help to reduce and deepen the tone of the exhaust.

How is the interior drone with this system? I like a loud exhaust, but I would like to cut the drone down as much as possible.

    • The Pypes pype bomb will have some drone to it. However each person will hear the drone differently and will react to it differently. If you are looking for a loud exhaust with no drone, Corsa will be one of the only exhausts to offer no drone and be loud! https://www.americanmuscle.com/corsa-xtreme-axleback-0510gt.html

      DEEEEEEP!!!!!

I have to say this is one of the deepest and smoothest systems when paired with long tubes and a catted x. There is literally no rasp or drone which was unexpected but appreciated. I would expect it to get a bit louder once the bullet mufflers break in which we did bring forward a bit to get rid of the terrible stock ford band clamp behind the mid pipe. All in all, bravo Pypes. You've done it again....

      Best exhaust, period.

I was skeptical. I already had Pace Setter Long tubes, O/R H pipe to chambered flow masters. However, I had some cheap sounding crackle and wasn't impressed. I bought this system and I was flooooored with the difference. I kid you not. Drone is gone, compared to how loud it is WOT the cabin is perfect. If you are driving normal, no unwanted attention is received, it is perfect. I drive by police all the time without issue. Drove past a wreck today with an office right next to me. No issues. It just sounds GOOD. It is clean. No unwanted crackle. PERFECT people, perfect..

      Mostly great

Love the sound, easy install. Only complaint would be that it doesnt include 4inch clamps to hook to the h-pipe. Kinda stupid to spend 500 bucks on new shiny exhaust and have to put an old rusty clamp on it just to hook up

      Great sound but fitment sucks

Process was a lot longer than expected due to not being able to get the right side exhaust out without dropping my driveshaft (didn't have a cutting tool..... hacksaw sucks). But after all that it sounds better than the stock exhaust. Quiet on idle loud enough not to annoy anyone on takeoff. To address the true fitment problem though, the right side over axle lays on my axle so I get a little rattle every now and again. Trying to figure that out but other than that it is a good system.

      Sounds good

The system sounds great matched with the pypes off road h pipe. However, the fit is terrible. Installed myself and figured i messed something up so i took it to an exhaust shop to have them do a final adjustment. They got it slightly better but it is still uneven and sticks out to far past the bumper for my liking.

      Pypes Super System Cat-back

I had this installed with JBA long tube headers and shorty catted H pipe. The fit is ok, if you use the exhaust hangers from SR you can almost get it aligned right. Mine is still about a 1/4 inch off on the left resonator. The exhaust note is great, sounds a bit more like old muscle. The loudness however is terrible, probably as quiet or slightly above stock. If I have my windows down cruising at 40mph you can't even hear it over the wind. No noticeable performance gains with the new exhaust as a whole even with a tune.

Great set. My roush bullitt is pretty soundproof but the pypes challenged it and won. all the guys and girls that attend our weekly get together noticed and asked a lot of questions about the change. You should get a little upsurge in sales pretty soon.

      Simple install, good tone

I just had Achilles surgery and have a leg in a cast. I was going stir crazy, so I thought "what the heck, I'll give the installation a try. First, kudos to Ford for recognizing enthusiasts will want to modify. 30 minutes to deconstruct the cat back factory exhaust. Installation was easy and about an hour. I used wooden door shims to hold spacing between the mufflers and floor pan while I did final tightening. Once I had the couple of tools listed and the parts lined up next to the car, I never had to crawl back out for an overlooked tool or part and completed the exhaust, even in a cast! Ps...I wish I had more cackle like my old carbureted pony cars, but sounds sweet accelerating under load.

Pypes hit that note for me

I have been looking for the right exhaust sound for my mustang, but I was very hesitant because it is really hard to tell the real sound from a Youtube video. I trusted the great reviews from other people that bought Pypes exhaust and I wasn't disappointed. Great rumble on acceleration but quiet when I get off of the gas. Really strong growl, but not raceway loud when I stomp on it.

      annoying but worth it

I bought this system for my 2007 gt and a buddy of mine came over to help me do the install. We got the old exhaust out with the aid of a tailpipe cutter and some old fashioned pull and yank. The install was a breeze on the passenger's side, everything went on perfectly, we got it all tightened down and set up with the tip sticking out from the bumper perfectly. Then we got to the driver's side and we literally spent 4 hours trying to get it in and lined up with the bumper. I still don't have it where i really want it so i might go to a shop later down the road and have them adjust it to look it's best. All this to say the exhaust sounds great when its all on and bolted down. It is loud when you get on it but on the highway cruising speeds it is non-existent. If you want something that will be the perfect amount of loud when you get on it but not drown out life around you then this is for you. Just be prepared to get very frustrated like i did when one side goes on like a glove and the other side just would not cooperate at all.

      Great exhaust..

This exhaust set up is pretty decent for the price.. It's actually more quiet than the 40series Flowmasters I had on the car. I didn't use the mid mufflers cuz my guy said it would quiet them even more. It's also had a deeper rumble than I expected. Inside the car there is 80 less drone than the Flowmasters which is a plus IMO.. Look really great on the car and sound really good when you get on it. Over all really satisfied with this set up!! Def recommend A
