For each and every Bama Tune, we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique set up and intended use, in an easy to use web form. Our Bama Custom Tunes are developed in-house on our Dynojet 224xLC chassis Dyno. Hours of research and development through street, track and dyno testing/datalogging left us with fully refined custom tunes. The Bama Performance team has exclusive access to our inventory of parts.

This tune will get you the largest increase in performance. Designed for the "Race only use", as the timing and throttle response are very aggressive.
This tune adds power at 3000 RPMs and higher, focusing more on the top end HP and all out performance driving.

The tune was easy to install and setup, and made a noticeable difference in the throttle response and seat of the feel. I live in a northern climate, so the car is only driven in 3 seasons and not everyday. Very pleased, this product did what was advertised and expected, can't ask for more than that.Helpful (0)

Can't delete EGR/O2s/SAI any more.
My car doesn't really NEED a tune yet for the mods right now. Right now I need to eliminate my broken/failed IMRCs, EGR, secondary air injection, and eliminate the DS O2s running no cats. The QandA states this can be done but apparently that's outdated info and they can no longer do that. So until I mod the car some more that requires a good tune (which I would get done on a dyno anyway), this is nothing more than a $400 IMRC delete box. Had I known they couldn't do that any more I would have opted for something different. So if you want to eliminate any emissions components, this will NOT do that without visiting an actual tuner. I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I feel like I was tricked into buying something that will not do what this site claims it can do.Helpful (1)

product back in August it’s taken me to an 1/2 months to get it programmed with my busy life. I wasn’t aware it wasn’t Apple compatible because that’s all I own I had to go to the nearest library program the tuner if I can do it all over again I would’ve went a different route.Helpful (3)

The tuner looks good, but I have had nothing but trouble with it, for something you pay a lot of money you would think it would work great. I’ve had it for a while and still can’t tune my car, so now the wait for them to send another hopefully!!!!Helpful (4)

Great performance for the price.

Sct X4 review
Ordered strictly to bypass my PATS issue. Since I have a full bolt on Cobra, I took advantage of the free tunes for life. I was hesitant on canned tunes, but with the tune sheet and data logging...it really woke up my Cobra.Helpful (5)

Does this tuner help calibrate the speedometer on the 1998 Cobra after adding different that stock rear gears and larger wheels/tiers?
The Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner w/ 3 Custom Tunes requires a questionnaire to be filled out prior to programming the custom tunes, where rear gear ratio and tire size is requested, so it can be re-calibrated. The tuner itself has the function, however, it is disabled by the custom tunes.
Can this tuner disable the p1516 engine light associated with deleting the IMRC plates in addition to tuning for the airflow properly?
Yes the Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner w/ 3 Custom Tunes, would be able to tune for an IMRC delete in addition to getting rid of the light associated with that code.
Will this tuner be able to account for egr deletion and vacuum lines being plugged off for running long tube header setup ie pacesetter with all the ports plugged off for a 1996 four valve cobra?
Bama will be able to tune for the EGR delete and vacuum lines being plugged off when running long tube headers.
i have a 97 cobra that has a v1 vortech supercharger and some other little touches, would this tune work for boost? and do i need anything else for a successful boost tune? and i live in kansas so where would i be able to get it tuned at
Bama cannot tune for aftermarket superchargers. We do not have recommended custom tuners in your location.
What is the difference between a bama x4 tuner and a sct x4 tuner or are they the something only the BAMA gives you upgrades for life? Would a dyne/tune shop who works w/ SCT be able to put their tune on BAMA tuner?
The only difference is Bama Performance would write custom tunes for your car on the SCT device. A dyno shop would be able to write tunes for either device.
The SCT will include pre-configured tunes where as the Bama X4 comes with custom tunes that are specific to your vehicle and current performance mods.
The tuner does remain it's original functionality of being able to manipulate the speedometer. Bama can tune for this if you request them to, but you can alternatively just calibrate it yourself directly through the tuner. However, please make sure you do not do both, only one or the other.
The Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner will have the tunes loaded onto the tuner before shipping.
The Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner can be used by a local tuner as long as they have access to SCT tuning software, as this is an SCT X4/SF4 tuner.
There is no option on the handheld device to disable the PAT's system but can be disabled in the tune writing process as long as you advise that is what you want from the tune.
Yes, the tuners do have the ability to turn off the rear or downstream oxygen sensors.

Hey Aaron, Once the tune is downloaded you can simply unplug the tuner and you're all set to go!
Unfortunately we will not be able to tune to make the DOHC Cobra sound like it is camming like the newer 5.0L Mustangs. Those tunes are only available for engines that have TIVCT (Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing) which the 1996 Cobras do not have.
These are changes we make in our Custom tunes to help ensure that the engine keeps it's cool in those hard driving and competition situations. This also means that your Mustang won;t have anything to worry about during the daily commute either. We can also accommodate a lower temp thermostat as well for those customers keeping an eye on their Mustang's cooling system.
