      Hey, guys, Stephanie here, and today we're gonna take a look at the BBK 1-7/8-inch ceramic-coated tuned-length shorty headers for the 2011 and newer 6.4-liter. You're gonna wanna be checking these out if you're looking for a set of shorty headers for both on sound and performance gains, you want the benefits of a ceramic-coated header, but you're still looking for the budget-friendly option.Generally speaking, ceramic-coated headers are gonna be a slightly more expensive option than a chrome option. A lot of times, people go with a ceramic-coated header if they want the appearance of the header to hold up over time and they want the performance benefits of the ceramic coating. These cost about $450, which makes them one of the most budget-friendly options on the site when it comes to ceramic-coated headers. And I'm gonna call the install a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter.So, when it comes to headers, you have some choices. The headers are gonna be one of the key pieces in your car's overall performance, and choosing the right headers for your specific build will have an impact on horsepower and torque. Your two basic options are short tube or long tube headers. They're gonna give you different sounds and different horsepower and torque numbers at different RPM ranges, and the design in each type of header will impact the back pressure of the exhaust differently.Keeping things simple, long tubes build power in the mid to high RPM range. They're a good option for high-revving cars and track cars. Shorty headers shine in the low to mid range, which makes them a good option for lower RPM power demands, street cars and daily drivers. Then you have other factors, like long tubes aren't always legal, they're more expensive, and you have to pick up a new mid-pipe or connection pipes. Either way, swapping out the restrictive factor in cast manifolds will give you both horsepower gains and sound gains, no matter which design you end up going with.So, if you've got it narrowed down that you want shorty headers, you'll need to next choose between equal length and unequal length shorties. They're gonna produce slightly different power and torque numbers at different times in the curve. The best advice I can give you is to take into account your entire build. All of the components of the exhaust are a system, and you have to plan for what you want out of your build. You can't really just look at the headers themselves. A car only gets best overall power if you look at it like a complete system. With all that being said, we can take a closer look at these particular headers.These are BBK's 1-7/8-inch offering, meaning the diameter of the primary tubes are 1-7/8 inches. These are shorty headers and they're unequal length. They're tune headers. Equal length just means that the length of all the primary tubes are the same. In this case, they are not the same length. Installing equal length shorties can be a little bit tougher because you have more primary tube length than you do with these unequal length shorties, but that's just a side note.These are made from mandrel bent stainless steel for smooth airflow and heat and corrosion resistance. If we move on to the finish, these headers have a silver ceramic finish. This is different than a natural or chrome finish. A chrome finish will tarnish over time, and a natural finish is more raw. The silver ceramic finish that these headers have is gonna outlast a chrome finish or a polished finish. It actually keeps under-hood temps down since it doesn't allow as much heat to escape through the headers.Your other performance benefit is that the ceramic coating forces the exhaust gasses to expand down and out the end of the exhaust, which boosts exhaust flow, and it makes room for fresh air in the cylinders, ultimately helping with horsepower. You also get the benefit of added corrosion protection with the ceramic coating. Ceramic coating is known to work the best out of all exhaust insulation methods and produce the most benefits. I'll say that you should be looking at ceramic-coated headers if you're looking for the most performance possible.Some other good news about these, these will work with the stock catalytic converter and you don't need a tune to install them.       Exceptional Construction. Crafted from a durable silver polished ceramic coating, these 1-7/8 inch CNC mandrel bent headers provide better airflow. In addition, a one-piece laser cut flange delivers added strength and durability. With reinforced silicone rubber hosing, this upgrading hosing will not fail under increased boost pressures. 

      CARB Notes. This product is not currently CARB emissions certified but the CARB EO is pending. Ideal for all your off-road runs, these exhaust headers cannot be shipped to California.

      No Tune Required. Shorty Tuned Length headers make this no tune product ready built to perform. DYNO tested for a superior performance, these headers are also pressure tested to ensure a leak free performance.

      Application. The BBK 1-7/8 in. Ceramic Tuned Length Shorty Headers are strategically manufactured to fit all 2011-2020 Dodge Challenger 6.4L models. 

      Installation. Special tools are required for this intermediate installation. The install time is estimated at 4 to 6 hours. Special Tools required: WD-40, 10mm, 15mm, 16mm, 18mm sockets and wrenches, 3/8 ratchet, extensions, floor jack and jack stands.
