Hey, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my brief overview of BBK's long-tube headers available in ceramic or chrome, fitting all 2011 and newer V6 Mustangs. Simply put, long tube headers have been designed to replace your restrictive factory manifolds, which can really choke out the flow of exhaust. A set of long tubes paired with an aftermarket Mid Pipe and exhaust, will make for a very free-flowing exhaust setup, which can give you a nice bump in power, as well as make for one mean-sounding exhaust note. As far as price, these long tubes from BBK are an extremely reasonable option when it comes aftermarket long tubes available for the late model 3.7 L V6. Taking a closer look, these headers feature 1-in-3/4 inch mandrel-bent tubing, quality welds throughout, and laser cut flanges for an OEM-like fit. Now as I mentioned earlier, you do have the option of picking these headers up in a chrome finish, or a ceramic finish. So what are the differences between the two finishes? Well, as you can see, the chrome option are a little brighter initially, but that's going to change as these headers heat-cycle, eventually turning that bright silver into a dark copper color. On the other hand, the ceramic options are going to remain that bright silver color throughout their lifespan. Secondly, that ceramic coating is going to be slightly better at reducing underhood temps, which is very important for performance. Now those added benefits do come with a price as ceramic coated headers are typically more expensive than a chrome or stainless option. Doing the install on any set of long tubes can be a little intense, so it's best to set aside a full day or weekend just to tackle the job. Now, you might not need it, but it's always good to be prepared. Now again, if you don't feel confident enough to tackle this install, then don't hesitate to give your local shop a call, they should be able to help you out. Keep in mind, whenever you run a set of long tubes like these BBKs, you will need to address your Mid Pipe. In this case you will need to run a flanged, and shorty Mid Pipe, just to get everything installed correctly, now BBK recommends their Shorty X-Pipe for the best fitment and performance gains. In the end, what you can expect from using these long tubes from BBK is a considerable bump in both power and sound, all at a very fair price. So be sure to check them out right here at AmericanMuscle.com

I got crazy results. Pairing these with the BBK shorty X-pipe and BORLA ATAK cat back exhaust system. I confuse everyone now. It makes it hard to believe that I own just a v6. Everyone thinks it's a v8. You can literally feel the power increase as well. Awesome product.Helpful (2)

Nice product. Paired it with the catted x-pipe for good performance gain. I rated this a 3 because I have two gripes with this purchase. First, the O2 sensor extensions said they were 24” on the box, but they were more like 12”. I had to cut them and extend them myself. Second, the driver side header is almost impossible to install because the steering shaft is in the way. I had to install the head studs after getting it into position which might not have been a problem with 2 people, but alone this was difficult.Helpful (0)

BBK Long Tubes
Just an FYI: If your ordering these BBK Long Tubes for a 11-14 V6 Mustang make sure you add to your order the 22 Inch O2 Front Sensors (PART #386969) vs the 9 inch ones they will come with. I learned this the hard way. Other than that they are great headers.Helpful (10)

Great mod but missing something
It took about 4 hours to take off the factory headers and install the BBK Long Tube Headers with the H-Pipe with some friends. Pro tip, lube the nuts holding the OEM headers. I did it the morning of and didn't have any problems but, it might have been easier if I had the night before. Oh and the studs in the engine block tend to come out. Put them back first before putting the headers and nuts on. Like tried and true fashion, I left the OEM cat-back disconnected and started the car with the headers and h-pipe installed (with the sensors in and everything). Man, did it sound great. Although, once I clamped the factory cat-back on, that's where I noticed a difference in sound. upon startup, I noticed it was great at idle and cold starts but, get up above 4k rpm; welcome to rasp-ville. It's not even a classy kind of rasp, very hollow sounding tin can (I blame the OEM suitcase resonator). I ordered a cat-back so fast after that. Other than that, I've put 400 clicks on the headers and no check engine light or anything. Will re-tighten everything after the 700 kilometer mark. 10/10 would recommend.Helpful (7)

Hi I have a 2015 Mustang v6 with a borla atak axle back with a Flowmaster 2.25 in. Scavenger Series Resonator Delete X-Pipe. Will the bbk ceramic long tube headers fit with the exhaust system I have. If not which headers is recommended for my vehicle.
These headers would work with your axle back no problem, however, the X-pipe you have would need to be replaced with the BBK shorty mid-pipe.
hi I have a 3.7 ford mustang I wanna buy the bbk longtube headers but I need to know if I need to buy the bbk 02 sensors extension kit or I don't need to??
These headers do come with the extensions required for the 11-14 V6 Mustangs. The 15-17 V6 Mustangs will require the additional extensions.
Will it fit? Planning to buy these long tube and also Xpipe. . But I do have installed 2011-2012 Mustang V6 3.7L MagnaFlow Cat-back Exhaust (Street) Do i need to cut some tube off? Also I dont need to do anytunes? Thanks
Yes you need a tune thers so much air going through the exhaust it will throw off the computer. I also have the magna flow quad tip exhaust and everything fit mine just right this will make your exhaust deeper and up your horsepower big time.
What exactly will I need to buy with these to make them work on my 2017 V6 Mustang?
These will work with all 11-17 Mustang V6 models. All you will need is a BBK shorty mid-pipe which can be found here: https://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-catted-hpipe-1516v6.html.
How much horsepower will I get with these? I have a 2014 v6 mustang
Unfortunately, determining how much power this will generate is based on a few different variables such as your modifications and tuner. Please feel free to contact our customer service team or your tuner for an estimate of the expected gains with these headers.
Hi, These BBK Ceramic Long Tube Headers are not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles and are intended for off road use only.
The stockpipes will not fit these. You will need an aftermarket midpipe in order to fit the BBK ceramic long tube headers.
You'll be using the included header bolts and hardware from BBK for the install of these headers.
No, you will need to get the shorty BBK mid-pipe to work with the long tube headers and the axle back.
With these headers, you will need to buy a shorty BBK mid-pipe which would replace the Flowmaster X-pipe.
Doing long tube headers will increase the cabin noise yes.
Unfortunately we are unable to determine the exact numbers. It will depend on the tune used and the supporting mods.
These headers are not CARB legal.
If you have a 2011-2014 Mustang, you would need either part number 1461 or 1462. If you have a 2015-2017 Mustang, you would require the header adapters with part numbers 1465 or 14650. Hope this helps!
