V8 Style And Sound. Bolting on a Pypes Street-Pro Cat-Back System to a stock 1998 to 2004 V6 will yield an instant 8 to 13 horsepower gain! It features two Street-Pro mufflers for Pypes ultimate in flow (and power gains) with an aggressive V8 sound.

Turndown Tips. The Pypes Street-Pro Cat-Back System is designed with tips that turn down under the rear bumper, similar to those on the 1987 to 1993 GT, so no cutting or modifications are required to the stock V6 rear bumper cover.

No Cutting or Welding Required. Unlike so many other aftermarket V6 dual exhaust kits that require cutting and welding the stock Mid Pipe, the Pypes Street-Pro Cat-Back system simply bolts right up to the stock Y-pipe for a no hassle installation

Quality Materials. This Pypes Dual Cat-Back Exhaust is constructed from free flowing mandrel bent 2.5" 409 stainless steel piping and features Pypes Street-Pro 3-chamber mufflers for an aggressive throaty sound.

Application. The Pypes Street-Pro Dual Cat-Back Exhaust kit is specifically designed to simply bolt-on to existing stock Y-pipe on of any 1998 to 2004 3.8L or 3.9L V6 Mustang for more power and a more aggressive sound.

      Exhaust pipes

Pipes are shipped a little long. Trim to fit, could be louder. I will have to remove cats next.

      Would have been 5 stars

The only problem that i had was that my mechanic had to do some minor fabrication as this did not direct fit my 1998 v6. It cost me 4 hours of labor. When i planned on two. The sound is great. I love the feel of the low sounds idling down the road. The only other problem was one tip hangs lower the the other not noticable to some but if your a car guy you notice.

      not bad

installtion went good. had it done. professional, about 3 hours. nice looking, clean. sound is ok. thought it would be alittle louder sitting still. but it is a 3.8, so compared to the stock sound. much better. getting on it the sound is much better. still not a v8 sound but for the price and look. very happy.

      Slight modification

I had to drill new holes into the rear exhaust hanger mounts that are supplied, due to mounts are off set to the holes. Noticed the driver side pipe sticks out more than passenger side. But besides that, its a really good system and sounds good.

      Very poor fitment

This kit did not fit my car at all (2000 V6 Convertible) and required way too many modifications to prevent it from scraping or clearing the axle (my car is stock height). From the videos I've seen this exhaust sounds great but I have no idea how other people managed to install this on their car and I wish it would have fit mine.

      Pypes dual exhaust

Super fast shipping as usual. This product is great as long as you get it on sale. I got it for about 309. Other than that I'd go with the Macs dualexhaust for 379. But if you can get it for $309 or so it's well worth it. The y-pipe will need to be cut which is not really a big deal. The passenger side tail pipe does not have the correct Bend to it but it will fit with a little tweaking of the exhaust bracket hanger. Yes this was a very difficult install but it does fit once you get things together and work everything out but definitely use some grease inside the pipe so that you can twist them because you will be doing a lot of twisting and turning to get it adjusted. one good thing is that it comes with the dual exhaust hanger kit which is a must in order to fit this system. It does look good when finished install and adjustment. And if you want straight tips instead of the turndowns it's very simple to just cut the end off where it turns down and slip straight tips over it. As for the sound at idle it's pretty close to stock but does have a slight little Rumble and when getting on the gas or with it revving over 3 Grand it has a nice Rumble from the rear but regular driving is fairly quiet inside the cabin

      Not what I thought

I brought this product thinking that it would make my car sound better and little louder then stock form. By no means did I think it would sound like a GT but I thought it would have a throatier sound then what it does. I'm very disappointed. The car might as well still have the stock exhaust on it.

      98 v6

First I ordered it on Thurs and got it Fri morning so super fast delivery. Installation however was a huge pain the directions were useless. But, well worth it they sound really good wish they were a bit louder but they look and sound great. I'd recommend these to every v6 owner. I've been buying parts off of this site left and right to boost horsepower and these did just that.

      Great exhaust But...

Ok so I got my exhaust in the mail thinking it will be a 1-2 hour install and no cutting like it says on the website. It took me and two other people 6 hours to install this. And there was 3 places to cut! Don't get me wrong, I love the product, it makes a great noise. It's not quite but it's not too loud. When you rev in neutral it makes a great back fire noise. When you turn the car on, it's loud, but when your in gear it makes a nice grumble. It starts to get loud when you get above 3,000 rpm. Definitely better then the stock exhaust. While installing the tail pypes, Raise the car as much as possible. Also, the hangers on the hump face the inside of the car. While taking the old exhaust off, you have to cut the old muffler off where the tail pipe and muffler meet. It's definitely worth the time and money. Oh and read the directions, good luck!!!

Great addition for the old gal

The old exhaust had seen better days, purchased this unit to replace the original and update the look, performance and sound. With the help of my trusty sawsall, the old was off in under 10 minutes and with a little tweeking of the front hangers, the exhaust fix perfectly. It was a very easy install. We did need to trim 5 inches off the new Y-pipe, but with the sawsall, that was simple too. As for the sound... nice low end tone (improvement), no drone, slightly louder then stock. Very happy with the workmanship and quality

Quality product, but dissapointed in exhaust sound.

The quality of the product is very good and installation was within expectations; however, it was necessary to modify/cut the exhaust sections to install. And i'm not very pleased with the so called aggressive mufflers/sound. The mufflers/sound are not agressive as one would expect; as a matter of fact the mufflers are quite quite; no throaty sound as one would expect.. After posting this It would be nice if American Muscle would replace the shipped mufflers with a more aggressive set that actually backs up their advertised statements. In addition also eliminate the statement that no cutting is involved.

      This is the perfect sound!

Although I was unable to install it myself I dropped it off at the shop and they finished within a couple hours. Got it back and man, can you feel the rumble. I did however change the pypes to m-80s and it sounds beautiful! Not too loud and raspy like glass packs, but a nice rumble and tone. Once I drove away I can feel a minimal hp gain, but still good for what I paid for. Overall a great product, thanks AM!
