      Hey guys, Stephanie here and today we're gonna take a look at the BBK 1-3/4 inch chrome tuned length shorty headers for 2009 and newer 5.7 liter. You're gonna wanna be checking these out if you're looking for a set of shorty headers for both-on, sound, and performance gains and you're looking for the budget-friendly option. Generally speaking, chrome headers are gonna be the less expensive option when compared to stainless steel or ceramic coated headers, and people pick up chrome headers when they're more concerned about performance and sound as opposed to looks since a chrome will change over time. These headers cost about $350 which makes them one of the most budget-friendly options that are currently on the site. When it comes to the install, I'll call it a three out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter. When it comes to headers you have some choices. The headers are gonna be one of the key pieces in your car's overall performance and choosing the right headers for your specific build will have an impact on the horsepower and torque. There are two basic options: the short tube and long tube header. They're gonna give you different sounds and different horsepower and torque numbers at different rpm ranges and the design of each type of header will impact the back pressure of the exhaust differently. Keeping things simple, long tubes build power in the mid to high rpm range. They're a good option for high rubbing cars and track cars. Shorty headers shine in the low to mid range which makes them a good option for lower rpm and power demands, streetcars and for daily drivers. Then you have other factors like long tubes aren't always legal, they are more expensive, they have to pick up a new mid-pipe or connection pipes. Either way, swapping out the restrictive cast manifolds will give you both horsepower and torque gains and sound gains no matter which design you end up going with. So if you've got it narrowed down that you want shorty headers, you need to next choose between equal length or unequal length shorties. They're gonna produce slightly different power and torque numbers at different times in the curve. The best advice I can give you is to take into account your entire build. All of the components of the exhaust are a system and you have to plan for what you want out of your build. You can't really look at just the headers themselves. A car will make its best overall power if you look at it as a complete system. With that being said we can take a closer look at these particular headers. These are BBK's 1-3/4 inch chrome offering, meaning the diameter of the primary tubes are 1-3/4 inches. These are shorty headers and they're unequal length or tune. Equal length just means that the length of all the primary tubes are the same. Installing unequal length shorty headers will be a little bit easier than installing equal length shorties because you have a little bit more room here with these. These are made from mandrel-bent stainless steel for smooth airflow and heat and corrosion resistance. They're finished with chrome and I'll say to just be aware that the chrome coating on headers does change a little bit over time as the headers are heat-soaked. You'll notice after installing these and starting the car that the appearance will change pretty quickly. But these do have that stainless steel underneath so you don't have to worry about the chrome finish being your only protection. These will work with the stock catalytic converter too and you don't need a tune to install these. You'll also receive the needed gaskets and the new hardware to install these right in the box. When it comes to the install, you are looking at a full three out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Headers are not an easy install and you'll need some knowledge to get it done yourself. This upgrade will increase the horsepower of your 5.7L HEMI powered Challenger by up to 20 horsepower. These BBK Headers will bolt directly onto your factory catalytic converters with no modifications required.

      Quality BBK Construction. BBK Shorty Headers are manufactured from 1-3/4-inch CNC mandrel bent tubing for unrestricted airflow. These Headers feature a one piece laser cut 3/8-inch flanges for additional strength, leak-free performance and a OEM fit. These BBK Shorty Headers are then completed in a bright chrome finish for good looks and a long life.

      No Tune Required. BBK Performance engineered their Shorty Headers to improve the performance of your V8 HEMI Challenger without the need of reprogramming your computer. Even though a re-tune is not required for operation, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) to get the best possible performance from these Headers.

      Not CARB Certified.
      These BBK Headers are not CARB certified, therefore it is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; not intended for highway use.
