Loud Aggressive Sound. Installing a Borla "ATAK" catback system will significantly improve the exhaust flow of your coyote powered GT Mustang, when compared to the restrictive factory exhaust system, for a dramatic increase in power and performance with the added bonus of an aggressive muscle car sound that is not for the faint of heart.

ATAK. Acoustically-Tuned Applied Kinetics, is Borla's newest technology that produces the highest available dB (decibel) levels to pump the volume while retaining clarity of sound, avoiding distortion typically found in louder exhausts.

Street or Off-road Use. The Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust X-Pipe bolts up directly behind the factory catalytic converters making your Mustang 100% smog-legal. Or it can be installed with Borlas XR-1 Long Tube Headers, deleting the factory cats for even more power making it perfect for off-road use.

High Quality Construction. Constructed from ultra smooth mandrel bent 2.75" stainless steel tubing to improve exhaust flow the Borla catback exhaust system features two race inspired "ATAK" mufflers with 4.5" black chromed stainless steel slant tips for aggressive sound and impressive looks.

Application. This Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust System with included X-Pipe has a versatile design that allows it to fit 2011-2012 GT Mustangs equipped with either the factory manifolds or aftermarket shorty headers installed. Or it can be installed on 2011-2012 GT Mustangs with a set of Borlas XR-1 Long Tube Headers by deleting the catalytic converters.

Installation Note. When installing this X-Pipe/Cat-Back kit on a BOSS 302 Mustang you will loose the functionality of the factory Side Exhaust pipes.

Tech Note: By removing the catalytic converters, this exhaust is no longer legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles and will be intended for off-road use only.

I have the Roush Axle-back currently, how much louder is the Borla compared to them?

    • Hello! While we don't have an exact measurement, the Borla is going to be significantly louder than the Roush Axle Back. We rank the Borla ATAK at a 5 out of 5 in loudness, and the Roush a 3 out of 5.

Will the x pipe that comes with the borla atak system bolt right up to the bbk longtubes

    • The X-Pipe that comes with this Cat-Back is designed to fit with the Borla XR-1 Long Tube Headers (11-14 GT, BOSS), item # 29022, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/borla-lt-headers-1113gt.html). You will have to delete the catalytic converters in order to install these Headers. You may need to make some modifications if you plan to install the BBK Long Tube Headers since they are not designed for each other.

How far past the rear Valance do the exhaust Tips stick out? I have a 2013 Mustang GT Premium. I bought the Roush Axle Back exhaust and had it installed at the dealer. The tips stick out 3-4 inches past the rear Valance. This to me does not look good so I am looking to change exhaust. If anyone knows how far this system sticks out I would appriciate it. 2 answers

      Borla ATAK

Borla has you reuse the factory clamps BAD IDEA the two clams aft of the catalytic converter the nuts twisted off because of rust. This car has 30,000 miles. So after going to two auto parts store for new clamps I found out that the only place that you can buy them is a Ford dealer for $50 each. I would think after spending $1400 on a an exhaust I should not have to spend more on exhaust clamps. AT install you will find yourself cutting off an 1:1/4 off of the pipes aft of the x pipe again for this amount of money you should not have to use the sawzall on a brand new exhaust. After waiting for a day for new clamps to show up at the dealer I was able to complete the job. On the positive sounds great.

      Borla ATAC Cat-Back

BORLA ATAK cat back sounds amazing! Nice Rumble at normal driving speed, but massive sound when you hammer on it.

      Perfect and unique sound

A beautiful and deep rumble at low rpms. Once the throttle is engaged, it really livens up. This exhaust screams under WOT and has a range that is pleasing, to say the least. An expensive piece, but well worth the money. I have had this system on 2 of my coyotes; I would not even consider another option after owning this. ATAK FTW!

Review from Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

      BUY IT!!

Yes, it is a bit pricey. But trust me with Borla you can't go wrong! This is the must have for every 5.0 owner! It sounds incredible with hardly any drone. And of course it sounds GODLY when you step on the gas! The Borla Attacks (in my opinion) is the best exhaust you can get for your 5.0. I might have to get something a little more quiet when I get long tubes and a cam. But if you are only going for a simple cat-back this is the one for you. Like I said it's pricey, but worth every single penny!

      Top Notch Exhaust

Exhaust system is awesome...is my second time using an after market exhaust but this one in particular is my number one. You can definitely feel the exhaust now as you romp on it. The volume IS controlled with the gas pedal. It sounds aggressive from the start and screams nasty like a beast. I gave it 5 stars on volume. The price is a little steep for the majority of us, but you do get what you pay for.

      ATAK

This catback is loud! Just the aggressive sound I wanted. Just can't help accelerating with this new baby. Took me about 3 hrs to install on a lift with the help of my buddy. Not too loud in the cabin. Startup is killer. Just a matter of time before my neighbors start complaining.

      You won't regret it.

Be smart and save yourself the heartache of going with any other exhaust system. This exhaust sounds AMAZING. In the cab, it's only loud enough to feel good. Crack the windows and you can hear all the amazing. Stand behind it... LOUD! Everyone on the sidewalk will snap their neck in half trying to see you WOT down the road in 2nd.

      Borla ATAK Catback

The installation of this Borla system took a little less than 2.5 hours. The fitment was perfect, and the sound difference was drastic to say the least. I would 100% recommend this product for anyone who wants the "muscle car" sound and growl. I also see a noticeable difference in my acceleration , especially in 3rd gear. Bottom line , great product!

Review from Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

      Borla greatness

I love this borla atak! Quiet around town and coming into the neighborhood, slight growl when you start but when you stomp on the pedal everyone knows your coming. Absolutely no in cabin drone whatsoever. This was exactly what I was looking for quiet for normal driving and loud as can be when u stomp on it! Can't wait to buy the borla headers to complete the system. Love the sound, clean welds. Only reason it got four stars for fit is I had to bend the brackets on the axle back to have them set in my exhaust hangers and I had to reuse my stock clamps.

This system is perfect for a loud aggressive sound. I love waking up in the morning and hearing this bright and it early. Caution though it will wake the neighbors. I can't wait to install the XR-1 long tube headers to go along with it.

      Borla ATAK Sounds Awesome!

I love my Borla ATAK exhaust system. I've had it on my car for about 10 months, and it is great. The sound is full, but not too loud in the cabin. Spend the extra money and go with a Borla catback.
