    Justin: Hi everyone, Justin with AmericanMuscle.com with Paul from the Bama Performance Team here to talk to you about the benefits of using the Bama SF4 Flash Tuner loaded with the custom Bama V2 Performance and Race Tune on your '05 to '10 three valve GT. Now, Paul, obviously the main benefit or purpose of using an aftermarket Tune is to make your car faster. How is the Bama Tune going to help in that regard? Paul: When we're calibrating a vehicle, we've got completely different expectations and regulations than the factory, and the OEMs leave a lot on the table, and there's just a lot for us to do. So we're modifying the fuel maps, spark maps, a complete reconfiguration of the drive by wire systems. And for the automatic guys we do a whole new shift schedule map, torque converter changes as well. Justin: Very nice, and now we're doing the Performance and we're also doing the Race Tune. Can you explain the differences between the two? Paul: Correct. Our Performance V2 Tune is really designed for that daily driver or the weekend warrior to offer a seamless blend of driveability and maximum power whereas our Race Tune, that's pretty much maximum power, maximum torque leaving nothing on the table with really aggressive throttle response, really aggressive shift schedules; for the automatic owners, really sensitive throttle, pretty much disabling all of the torque management and some other additional modifications that we make. Justin: Very cool, very cool. And what Paul didn't mention, of course, is that with Bama's Free Tunes for Life, as your car's modifications grow, Paul and his team will write a new Tune for each and every mod so that you can get the most performance out of your setup. So Paul's going to get out of here for now. I'm going to talk a little bit more about the benefits of the actual SF4 Tuner itself, but then we're going to run the car, the '07 GT behind me, and we'll see what kind of numbers you can expect. Breaking down the Tuner itself, you can see the SF4 does feature a compact and sleek design with a rather large full color LCD screen. Now, that screen is fully customizable and offers different colors and themes available through the menu. Now, another nice thing with this large screen is that it does feature a landscape mode. You can even turn the Tuner sideways for a different view which is helpful during datalog sessions as I'll talk about in a minute. So why the larger screen? Well, as I just mentioned, the SF4 does feature on-screen gauges and data logging similar to what you would find on more expensive models, like the ITSX or even the SET Live Wire, for instance. Now, the on-screen gauges are fully customizable as is the layout and is capable of displaying up to eight different values at one time, including your car's air fuel ratio, boost, intake, air temperature, and RPM, just to name a few. And again, all of which can be data logged with a simple touch of a button. Other features with the SF4 do include built-in Wi-Fi which is a nice little touch allowing you to take care of this future firmware updates wirelessly. The SF4 still can hold up to 10 Tunes at one time like previous Tuners, and it is still capable of reading and clearing those diagnostic trouble codes, again, just with a simple touch of a button. Now, guys, if you do have any more questions about the SF4 itself or about the new Bama V2 Tunes, I strongly encourage you to head back to the product page at AmericanMuscle.com, if you're not there already, to read up on some more details. But more importantly, you can read up on what other three valve owners are saying about running a Bama Tune on their own ride. Now that you know a little bit more about the Bama SF4 handheld Flash Tuner, let's find out just how much power you can expect out of your '05 to 10 GT with the help of a custom Bama V2 Tune. First, I'm going to walk you through the process of uploading your Tune. Then I'm going to get Paul back in here, run the '07 GT one more time and just see what kind of numbers we can expect. First thing you're going to want to do is locate your car's OBD2 port. Now on the '05 to '10 cars, it's going to be on the left-hand portion of the dash underneath. So go ahead and plug the Tuner in and wait for it to power on. Now, once the Tuner actually powers on, you're going to want to navigate to the Tune you wish to select. Basically just hit the Okay button a few times to make sure the key is on. Then we're going to go ahead and upload our Bama Race Tune. We'll select that one. It loads it, and then basically from there you're just going to follow the directions listed on the screen here, and you should be good to go. Now if you guys should have any questions or problems about uploading your Tune here with your '05 to '10 GT, don't hesitate to reach out to a Bama tuning expert. So with our baseline run already in the books and the Tune uploaded, Paul's going to hop back in the '07 GT here, make another hit on the Dynojet just to see what kind of numbers you guys can expect with your ride. Our baseline run with our 2007 GT gave us 269 horsepower and 296 pound feet of torque at the rear wheels. With the Bama Tune uploaded, the corners now making 283 horsepower and 310 pound feet of torque at the rear wheels which makes for a peak gain of 14 horsepower over those baseline numbers and gains of 17 horsepower and 18 pound feet of torque throughout the curve. All the bolt-ons in the world won't do anything for you or your ride without a quality Tune to bring it all together.     I have read the contents of this kit, I have watched the video, but I STILL DON'T KNOW if this kit includes the rear gear pinion bearing kit necessary for 2010 Mustang gear swaps? And this is from a person who reads, writes and interprets complex written language for a living... Also, can not find this "drop-down" menu you are talking about in the video. You warn about it being necessary all the time, yet do not state clearly if this bearing kit contains it or not. Please indicate this CLEARLY for everyone to see, it is really confusing. Apart from that (assuming the kit DOES NOT include the rear, which I seem to deduct from one of the answers for previous questions), why make a bearing kit without the most important and needed bearing? Does ANY kit you sell include this 2010 rear gear pinion bearing (maybe those big kits with bottles for 279$ or any other kits by Ford?) or the only way is to buy the bearing separately?

    • We do apologize that the listing is not clear enough. The Motive Rear End Installation and Bearing Kit does not include the Rear Gear Pinion Bearing for 2010-2014 Mustangs. The bearing is not included in the kit because the kit is designed for 1986-2014 Mustangs, and it is not necessary for the majority of the years this kit works on.     Is this tuner able to turn off the 02 sensors, I am getting long tube headers and off road x pipe, thanks for your help.

    • With any of the tuners we are able to turn off the CEL for deleting the cats but this can cause issues with getting through your emissions testing.

    with the 93 octane tune will I have to run 93 octane gas?

    • Yes, with a 93 octane tune with the Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner you would need to run 93 octane. If you are worried about not being able to find 93 octane you can request a 91 octane tune and run 93 when you can find it. You can run a higher octane but never lower.

    I have a 2008 mustang GT that has a Bama custom tuning member plate in it. I don't have the tuner, or any reliable information on the modifications made to the car before I bought it. I will be purchasing your tuner but was wondering if I provided the details on the plate and Vin number could you work out a stock cam tune and the last known tune for the cams that are in it. Thanks

    • We would recommend contacting BAMA directly to see what information may be available from the previous tunes, and what they may or may not be able to do with any information they can locate.

    Just installed the JLT CAI on the weekend and loaded the Performance tune. I really like it so far but have a question about the Race tune before I install it. The traction control on the Mustang has saved me a couple of times, especially in the wet - does the Race tune turn off the "electronic nanny"? I actually am glad I have the nanny for day to day driving and don't want it disabled.

    • Your traction control system will still be enabled on the Race tune. We have modified the torque calculation and clutch protection logic as well as a few other changes specific to the race tune to unchain the performance of the car with racing/competition in mind. I would recommend giving it a try and then running the tune you prefer - either your Performance or Race tune.

      Installed a BBK blackout cold air intake,programmed the custom tune "race" into my cars computer.what a difference,no more throttle hesitation,trans is a 6 speed automatic transmission.It launches like a rocket and now chirps the tires every time car shifts to 2nd gear.so awesome. much more fun to drive.Without a doubt a noticable difference,and that's the truth ruth.install your choice CAI and use this tuner,its very simple and fast to use,and go live the excitement...T...out..got to go burn some rubber...

      WOW! What a difference!

      The tuner, SR Throttlebody and JTL CIA really woke up my 2010 4.6L! I did a baseline dyno pull a week before input these on, 300 rwhp and 322 rwt! Good numbers for a 145k miles and stock motor. Can’t wait to get my headers and 3” exhaust mounted. Then, a other dyno pull to see exact numbers! Thanks AM, great job as usual!!

      Bama Released the gorilla in the cage, its amazing

      The tunes that I have received from BAMA tuning are amazing and that is putting it lightly. With each improvement in performance parts I ask BAMA for new tunes and they are very very good about quick turn around, and the tunes work perfectly. The last race tune I received was a real thrill to try out, I love getting on the interstate and running thru the gears, the car performs like a true muscle car. Can't wait to get my next performance upgrade in parts so I can get more tunes to enjoy the horsepower gains. Thank you BAMA Tuning

      Overall easy product to use. Support is good. The only real issue I have with it is the OBD II plug. It’s a bit intrusive and if you want to keep the unit plugged in then you may need to go to amazon to pick up a low profile relocation plug.

      Great tuner!

      Works great! Love the ghost cam tune sounds awesome! Really makes your car run smoother thru high rpm range and pull harder I definitely noticed the difference. Also know that if you get the ghost cam tune they put it on your face tune only not performance tune! Took me a while to figure that out!

      Complete set comes with every thing you need too rebuild your 8.8 rear end. Installed prefect. Good gear set for manual trans. Rpms are still good. Your Speedo will b off a little. And you may want to get another bottle of royal purple to top off the oil. I would recommend!

      The 3.73 years are huge step up form the stock 3.31 gears that came with my 09 GT. I got these because the 4.10 gears were backordered and many seem to thing 4.10 is to short of a gear for a 5 speed. I went with the 3.73 on a buddy recommendation that had both. I also got the motive bearing install kit and the GT500 carbon clutch disk pack as well. I had a shop install then and they whined from the get go. I told the shop it was not shimmied properly and they told me to brake it all in because it was all new parts. I knew that this was a un true statement. I put the 500 break in miles on it and took it back to be re shimmied, it took the a additional 2 tries till they got is set perfect. When I changed the fluid after the 500 mile break in I went with a fully synthetic 75-140W and traction additive. The 75-140 is reccomend over 75-90W if the car is going to see a lot of hard launches. At 80mph in 5th gear my tach is reading 2350rmps and I have it calibrated for the gearing with my tuner. 1st great will see almost 40mph when you stomp on it with alot of wheel spin if you dump the clutch. I am Shifting into 5th at120mph now. I will upgrade to 295/40R18 nittos soon from my 255/45R18 Firestones and hope to pick up some more traction thier. This gear is perfect in my opinion, dont hesitate get em now!

      THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT BAMA TUNES

      Bama tunes are not what the reviews make it out to seem, my experience with bama tunes has been the most unpleasant experience ever. . The tune caused my car to stall out misfire and jerk. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. the tuning team dosent know what there doing!

      Ford lease so much on the table when it comes to the 05 to 09 Mustang GT this tuner freeze up what horsepower they left I myself have an automatic and it makes the shift points much more aggressive and the throttle response is insane highly recommend it to anyone wanting to free up some power and drivability with that fun Factor and a little bit of fuel economy as well
