Decent exhaust. Took a couple hours to remove the old exhaust, but only 20 mins to install the new one. Sound is great when you are standing behind the car, a little bit of drone while you are in it, barely noticeable going down the highway. Looks fantastic!Helpful (0)

Gave the extra rumble that the stock didn’t offer. Has a nice growl up to 2k RPM and settles nicely below that. The higher the RPM it tries to sound like a race car. The only complaint I have is that sits a little off centre but not a big deal. I was able to install this myself and had never done anything like this before, and just with a socket set. The worst part is wiggling the old muffler off and recommend a little WD40 before you start turning your wrench. All in all it gave the V6 more of a muscle car sound and isn’t obnoxious.Helpful (0)

I like it. fit good sounds good. Not sounding like a v8 but I don't have a v8 lol. The v6 sounds good. Does not sound like those annoying 4 bangers that are all noise and no go. Happy with this purchaseHelpful (0)

Taking off the stock exhaust is definitely difficult but having another pair of hands will definitely help. It took almost an hour to remove all the bolts from the hangers and such, but the installation of the new exhaust took around 20 minutes. The process is long, but it is definitely worth it especially with the aggressive loud tone!Helpful (1)

Good value and sound
Had a flow master on it before her rusted out and replaced it with this on my 05 v6. Nice sound, good value, aggressive.Helpful (0)

I got it on sale and I am very impressed with both the ease of installation as well as the tone of the exhaust. I had my car straight piped and found the drone far too annoying but after throwing this on it quieted down (except its rather loud when warming up). It sounds great, I can't really do it justice with words but I don't think you'd be disappointed if you bought one.Helpful (4)

I bought this exhaust hopeing it wouldn't sound like a Honda with a tin can....and it didn't. It has a good sound at start up and cruising down the road . And when u get on it you can here it...NICE!Helpful (4)
How does it sound at idle?
When you first start the engine, you can tell it is NOT your stock muffler! It has a deeper tone and sounds like a true muscle car. It will quiet a bit as you idle but still a far cry from the factory exhaust. Then step on the gas and hear it growl.
Torque? How musch torque will this add because I know it adds 5-7 hp but I am wondering how much torque it will add?
torque gains are usually close to hp gains 5-7 hp 4-6 torque as an oem replacement this is worth the price you will be happy if you want exact numbers you will need access to a dyno
Hello, I'm writing from Italy. I own a Mustang 4.0 V6 July 2010 “restyling” body serial number I2VBP8AN4A5148053, and I'd like to purchase a Pypes Street-Pro Axle-Back Exhaust (05-10 V6), but I'd like to make sure it will fit my car. When I look at the photos from your customers, I see that their cars are older models. Is there any way to make sure, considering that I live so far away?
This Pypes Street-Pro Axle-Back exhaust will fit on your 2010 4.0L V6 Mustang as the hangers and piping for the the 2010 models was the same that is found on the 2005-2009 Mustangs.
I've read the testimonials and I'm still not sure if I want to purchase. I don't want a high pitched rice burner sound or something that sounds like a bad exhaust. Just want something better than stock for now until I can get duals. Thx
This axle-back will definitely give your car more of an aggressive tone. It will slightly deepen the sound so you will not have any issues of a high pitched note.
Does this muffler drone? I want the aggressive sound when I am driving aggressively. But I am looking for something with good manners (not stock quiet level of sound, but not Pro-Street loud) when on the highway. Also don't want something that is going to reverb through the passenger cabin. FWIW, I have a 2010 Convertible.
This muffler may have some drone to it. Most Axle-Back exhausts will give you a bit of drone. This muffler will give your car an aggressive V8 sound that will turn heads at higher RPMs while having a low rumble when cruising. This will be louder than your stock exhaust but nothing to obnoxious.
No, this will bolt right on to your stock set up
This exhaust kit will have some drone, yes.
Decibel information is not available for this exhaust.
This will have more of a deeper sound.
This item does not have a dual exhaust option. A lot of possible options would depend on mounting locations on the mufflers for your dual exhaust. If the mounting locations are the same as GT platform, there would be a few options from Pypes, including the Violator Axle-Back exhaust.
This item is street legal and will not have an effect on your car when it goes through emissions testing.
This would not be a Glasspack style muffler, this uses an internal louvered tube with mini sound deflector chambers to achieve its aggressive sound.
The Pypes Street-Pro Axle-Back Exhaust will clamp onto your existing exhaust, just like the stock Axle-Back.
The Pypes Street-Pro Axle-Back Exhaust is for 05-10 V6 Mustangs which have their exhaust exited from the passenger side of the vehicle only. The Pypes Axle-Back features the Street-Pro muffler that uses an internal louvered tube with mini sound deflector chambers to deliver a more aggressive rumble.
