How does it sound at idle?

        • When you first start the engine, you can tell it is NOT your stock muffler! It has a deeper tone and sounds like a true muscle car. It will quiet a bit as you idle but still a far cry from the factory exhaust. Then step on the gas and hear it growl.

Hello, I'm writing from Italy. I own a Mustang 4.0 V6 July 2010 “restyling” body serial number I2VBP8AN4A5148053, and I'd like to purchase a Pypes Street-Pro Axle-Back Exhaust (05-10 V6), but I'd like to make sure it will fit my car. When I look at the photos from your customers, I see that their cars are older models. Is there any way to make sure, considering that I live so far away?

        • This Pypes Street-Pro Axle-Back exhaust will fit on your 2010 4.0L V6 Mustang as the hangers and piping for the the 2010 models was the same that is found on the 2005-2009 Mustangs.

Torque? How musch torque will this add because I know it adds 5-7 hp but I am wondering how much torque it will add?

        • torque gains are usually close to hp gains 5-7 hp 4-6 torque as an oem replacement this is worth the price you will be happy if you want exact numbers you will need access to a dyno

I've read the testimonials and I'm still not sure if I want to purchase. I don't want a high pitched rice burner sound or something that sounds like a bad exhaust. Just want something better than stock for now until I can get duals. Thx

        • This axle-back will definitely give your car more of an aggressive tone. It will slightly deepen the sound so you will not have any issues of a high pitched note.

I have dual on my v6 Mustang, do they have them for dual exhaust

        • This item does not have a dual exhaust option. A lot of possible options would depend on mounting locations on the mufflers for your dual exhaust. If the mounting locations are the same as GT platform, there would be a few options from Pypes, including the Violator Axle-Back exhaust.

            Pipes Street pro axle back

It looks good on the car. But I think it is too loud on a freeway for my personal preference. Maybe because my Mustang is a convertible. You can hardly hear your music when you are on a freeway. When I have my stock on, I can hear the music ok.

Great Axle Back for the Buck!!!

Purchased this exhaust for my wife's convertible so I didn't it to break the sound barrier! This is perfect! Not too loud but, has some rumble and GREAT sound. It really wakes up that V-6 for sure!! And the 4" tip out the rear looks really nice. And a great value price. Very happy with this purchase!!!

            NICE

The sound is just the right tone for me. Not loud at all just a NICE tone. Quiet when cruzin at 2 grand but comes alive in the 3 to 3500 range . Run thru the gears up to 5 and they will hear you for sure. Sound is great with the top down . Fit and finish gets 4 only because on my 2010 it fits a tad low side to side is spot on . Thinking that this axel back fits 6 yrs. of Mustangs that is to be expected.

            Give or take bolt on.

It is a great sounding exhaust, maybe a little quieter than i wanted. The problem was the fitment. The hanger arms were too long and it hung too low so I had to cut them and weld new ones on.

            my Street-Pro Exhaust

I bought the street pro exhaust just to give my v 6 a little bit of sound over my stock muffler and have been very pleased with it not to loud but just rite with a good tone I would recommend to any one who would like some sound with out being to much.

Easy bolt on install, and sounds great.

Took me about 1 hour with a jack and a couple hand tools nothing crazy. Changed the sound of my car, gave it a nice v8 growl. Definitely recommend for anyone staying on budget but wanted to make sound great. 4inch tip also looks great on outside.

Satisfied with the sound especially when switching gears and going up in RPM. Not satisfied with the metal rattling sound when the muffler is cold. Don’t know if my muffler is defective or if this is how they’re made.

Sounds good - not super loud but loud enough. Really give a lot more noise in the lower rmps. Only back fires and crackles on cold start and cold days.

            2006 v6 Eleanour mustang

I have a dual exhaust 3 in installed in a Y shape. Its with the street pypes exhausts . Sounds amazing !! one thing you would want to knkw is that the welded support braquets on them do give in after a while with the vibrations. And thats a problem to fix because it makes 2 nasty holes in exhaust. You can patch them with muffler cement , but in shop they said it would just do same thing if they weld them back on.

It sounds aggressive as they stated it would. I enjoy it, and when I had someone else drive it to hear it from another perspective, I loved it! It took almost 2 hours that is because we had to saw it off.

            exhaust

Sounds more like you would here on one of the small cars that like loud noise. Kind of disappointed; guess I should have bought the more expensive muffler. I had glass packs on my '56 Chevy and thought it would sound somewhat similar.
