Justin: Hey, guys. Justin with, here to talk about the benefits of using the Bama X4 Flash Tuner, loaded with the new custom Bama V2 Tunes on your Coyote powered '11 to '14 GT. Now, here with me today, Paul Meister from the Bama Performance Team. He's going to talk a little bit more about what the average Coyote owner can expect when uploading a tune to their GT. Paul? Paul: What you can expect when uploading your tune to your '11 to '14 Mustang GT is a complete remap electronic throttle calibration for improved throttle response. For the automatic owners, it's a complete redesign of the shifting characteristics from shift points, torque converter lock and unlock, fan setting changes, fuel map changes, spark map changes. And of course, a refocus on the twin independent and variable cam for improved drive-ability and maximum performance. Justin: Absolutely. With the new Bama V2 Tunes, we're talking about a performance, and we're also talking about a race tune. Can you explain the difference? Paul: Correct. Our Performance V2 Tune is really designed for that aggressive daily driver. It offers a seamless blend of performance and drive-ability. And we do that with a remap ETC; electronic throttle calibration. The automatic guys get a completely revised shift schedule, torque converter changes, and again, some of the twin independent variable cam stuff as well, that we spoke about. The Race V2 Tune is designed for just that; race use only. We pretty much disable all the torque management. It's designed to shift really aggressively for the automatic guys, and just deliver everything that's left on the table from the vehicle. Justin: Yeah, and guys, don't forget, with Bama's "Free Tunes For Life," as your car's modifications grow, Paul and his team at Bama Performance will write a new tune for each and every mod so you can get the most out of your set-up. Now guys, that's going to do it for now. Paul's going to basically translate what he just said in the dyno numbers shortly when we run our 2012 GT behind me. But in the meantime, Paul's going to get out of here. We're going to talk a little bit more about what you can expect with the X4 tuner itself. As for the actual Bama SF4 tuner itself, well, as you can see, it's a pretty sleek, compact and modern design but with a very large, easy to read, full color LCD display. Now, some of the features with this full color display include a landscape mode, meaning you can turn it sideways, just like a lot of smartphones out there, for a completely different view. You can also choose different colors and themes available through a menu. And you can also go ahead and select a power-saving auto-dim feature to use while the tuner's plugged in but not in use. So, why the larger screen? Well, the Bama SF4 does feature on-screen gauges and data logging similar to what you'd find with more expensive models like the SCT Livewire or even the ITSX, for instance. These screen layouts are fully customizable and can display up to eight different values at one time, including boosts, air fuel ratio, coolant temp and intake air temperature, just to name a few. And by the way, you can data log these just with a simple touch of a button. Other features with the SF4 do include built-in WiFi which is a nice little touch and allows you to take care of those future firmware updates wirelessly. Now, the tuner does feature dual analog inputs and a removable power cord, making storage in a glove box or armrest that much easier. The tuner does still hold 10 tunes at one time and is still capable of reading and clearing those diagnostic codes just like any other tuner available out there on the market today. Finally, guys, if you do have any more questions about the SF4 tuner itself, please head back to the product page at where you can read up on some more details in addition to some customer reviews. Now, before we show you just how much power you can expect on your '11 to '14 GT using a custom Bama V2 Tune, I just wanted to walk you guys through the actual process of uploading the tune using your Bama Performance X4 Flash Tuner, and then we'll go ahead and make our Dyno pull here with our 2012 GT and show you guys the results. To start, you're going to want to locate your car's OBD-II port, which on the '11 to '14 Ford Mustang GTs is located on the lower portion of the dash here. So, go ahead and plug your tuner in and wait for it to power on. Navigate to your performance or race tune. Select the tune you wish to upload. And then just follow the detailed instructions listed on the screen here. Of course, if you guys have any trouble whatsoever during this process, you can always reach out to a Bama Tuning Expert. They're always standing by, ready to help you guys out. With our baseline run already in the books and the tuneup loaded, Paul's going to hop in the car and make another hit here on the Dynojet and see what kind of numbers you can expect with your GT. Our baseline run using our stock 2012 GT gave us 365 horsepower and 343 pound/feet of torque at the rear wheels. With the Bama V2 93 race tuneup loaded, the car is now making 397 horsepower and 382 pound/feet of torque. That gives us a peak gain of 32 horsepower over those baseline numbers, and gains of as much as 50 horsepower and 47 pound/feet of torque throughout the curve.   • Performance V2 (87-93 Octane) - The Performance Tune offers a seamless blend of power, performance and drive-ability. Automatic equipped vehicles offer an aggressive shifting map to provide more aggressive transmission settings.   • Race V2 (91-93 Octane, E85, Race Fuel) - The Race Tune is designed for maximum performance and ensures the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory as timing, TiVCT, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. Automatic transmission settings implement entirely new shift points, torque converter changes and firmness settings designed for Track use.

Nitrous (91, 93, E85, Race Fuel) - Our nitrous option can be added to any of our previously mentioned tune options, but only for 91, 93, E85, or Race Fuel.

Technical Note About Fuel. Use of E85 will require larger fuel injectors such as Injector Dynamics ID1300 or Ford Racing 47lb/hr Injectors. Unleaded race fuel can also be used, but Stoichiometric points must be supplied.

Easy to load; easy to restore. When you load your custom tune on the vehicle, the tuner automatically stores your vehicle's factory settings. To return the vehicle to its factory settings, just plug the tuner back in, select the option to restore the factory settings, and you're done.

2013 Mustang - Warranty Coverage I have heard a rumour that you guys cover up to $8000 if an engine problem occurs while using BAMA or AM tunes.... such as cyl #8 failing.... is this true or are people blowing smoke..... if this is true, i am interested in buying this.... if not true... i want to wait till my warranty from the factory expires. Thanks!!

Will a custom tune from Bama get rid of that annoying "hesitation" in throttle at launch?


  • The Bama custom tunes do adjust the throttle response meaning it will eliminate that slight delay in the acceleration when really putting down the pedal.

I'll be ordering a supercharger tune from lund a few weeks after buying this. Will I be able to load my lund tune onto this bama tuner? Or will I have to buy an sct?

Would I lose the mods from the TracKey? I have a 2014 GT and have the Ford Racing TracKey tune. Whenever I use the TracKey I get a slightly more aggressive tune and Launch Control (Two Step). Would I lose that Launch Control? It's the best feature from the TracKey. Thanks!


  • We're not able to offer tuning for vehicles with track key. The way the system affects the ECM prevents us from accessing it with our tunes.

does the tuner have the ghost cam tune on it?


  • We are able to make the adjustments to have that feature within the Race tune for the 2011-14 Mustang GT's. The GT would also need to have deleted the catalytic converters and have a manual transmission for this feature to be applied to the tune.

Can this tune with the addition of a roush supercharger? I am running a stage 3 roush on my 2014 and want to continue adding upgrades. Can I use this tuner to accomplish the re-tunes after installing these new products?


  • For your application, you will want to give our Bama team a call to discuss your current modifications and your future modification plans. Having a supercharger in the mix makes things a little more complicated so speaking to a specialist first hand is the best route. Give Bama a call when you have a moment - they will be happy to assist you.

    Works customer support from AM good Bamma support is awful

    If you contact Bamma directly good luck you will be on hold for literally hours. All said and done the product performs. However be warned not the best as far as support goes. AM on the other hand has fantastic support staff. My recommendation would be to try calling Bamma customer support line first to see how long it takes to speak to a human being.

    Awesome Product

    Great features from Diablosport coupled with great tunes from Bama Performance. Flashed the race tune first and all I can say is wow. Everybody thinks I have something extra like nos or boost. Oh, and one last thing when they say "for race use only" they mean it. I burned 16 gallons(full tank) in one day of aggressive driving.

    Diablo Tuner

    Plug and play simplicity. This is one of the easiest upgrades that you can make. Very noticeable power gain on my 2013 GT 5.0 manual tranny. Love the 0-60, 0-100 timer and from a stop or drag tree light times are cool functions. Keeping logs, metering functions and diagnostic tools round out one nice little programmer. Good tool for recording actual gains made from your upgrade choices. I have recommended this product to other Mustang owner with good response. Get out and let your pony run!

    Best Tuner out there!

    I decided to go with the Trinity because I didn't want to pay 4k for the premium upgrade when I ordered my 13' 5.0. I really liked the track apps on the 13' but it wasn't worth the price when that was the only thing I liked about the premium. So I opted for the the Trinity because it does what the track apps do but WAY more! This tuner has been great to me! NO issues, Easy to read in sunlight! Easy to Data log, Easy to set up different gauges. Easy to set up the warning lights. Just an overall great experience using it! Touch screen is very responsive! I chose AM because they had the best price and the fact that it comes with the BEST tunes for LIFE for FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Diablo has great support for this unit too with frequent updates! It's also so simple to install a CAVE man Can do it!

    Worth every penny...!

    Upon request AM switched me from SCT SF3/X3 to Diablosport Trinity T-1000 after I had tuning issues from the second set of new tunes issued to accommodate my latest AM radiator Mods. The original tunes were set-up for C&L Cold Air Intake, 90mm BBK Throttle Body, Accel Super Coil On Plug, and Ford Racing X-Pipe with custom 2-3/4” non-restrictive pipe connecting to Roush Axle-Backs. I can honestly say after using both the T-1000 is worth the extra money with touchtone screen and manual push button features, especially over-all tuner performance. Same stock, custom, and race tune with a simple high performance Mishimoto radiator and 170 degree thermostat requiring cooling fan tweak the T-1000 sponsored tunes felt smoother, faster, and throttle response was insane. I easily contribute the performance enhancements to the T-1000 and running an average of 40 degrees lower temp don’t develop that level of power differences. Shifting gears under max power race tune output no doubt smoother and the T-1000 shift lights promotes shifts before the Rev limiter shuts down engine causing loss of power, which is a huge bonus. I immediately noticed the engine didn’t choke down as fast between shifts in comparison allowing the RPMs to stay a little above 5.0L/3.73 gear ratio power band of 2800 starting point without extra effort for increasing power to the ground output. Oddly enough the incredible T-1000 results I’ve experienced is accomplished with a Ford (bolt-action rifle feel) factory stock shifter and it’s on my list to replace with custom short throw, but the T-1000 makes it unnecessary at this point. Nonetheless why stop now…lol. The HD gages look cool and offer a practical purpose, but not a necessity for me because I don’t waste time trying to read them individually accept for the LED shift light mode that only requires normal peripheral view reaction. I know people claim there’s no difference between tuner performances delivering the same tunes, but if you’re like me “drive by the seat of your pants” style my experiences says that’s not completely true using the Dialosport Trinity T-1000.

    '12 stang five-oh

    a very noticeable improvement in performance better throttle response really pulls hard in 4th gear with a 3:73 gear. gas millage stayed around the same is stock tune running 93 octane

    Money Well Invested

    This tuner is well worth the money spent, as soon as you install the tune, you will notice a dramatic difference in throttle responce and overall performance. you will be put back in your seat a lot faster than normal A++++++ job with this one.
