Grabber Blue Grabbing Attention - Rob’s 2014 Ford Mustang GT

With its iconic Grabber Blue color, AmericanMuscle customer Rob’s 2014 Ford Mustang GT certainly is an attention-grabber. His lengthy list of mods for the vehicle is impressive, and spans from exterior aesthetics to interior upgrades and underhood advancements. With 20-inch staggered wheels wrapped in Nitto tires, this beauty looks ready for action even at a standstill. It includes full GT500 yellow brakes, a custom Roush spoiler, long-tube headers, color-matched coil overs and matte black splitters all around. The car also has a full Trufiber interior with GT500 steering wheel and carbon accents.

Pushing Buttons

When looking for a suspension system, Rob knew he wanted an adjustable one that could give his Mustang a nice drop and maintain its overall ride quality. The Air Lift Performance Suspension Kit does that and more. This airbag suspension system is engineered to provide razor sharp handling and lower a vehicle’s center of gravity. It is perfect for use on the street, track or dragstrip. Air Lift’s suspension kits use 30-way variable, monotube struts, with a wide range of damping adjustment, that are tuned to match their progressive springs. These 30 clicks not only provide fun for the driver, but also allow him to dial in his preferred handling feel and ride quality from super stiff to smooth and soft. This system allows Rob to lower his GT more than 4-inches over the stock height for a killer stance with just the push of a button. With the same motion, he can lift it back up to take on his favorite race course. Not only does this system allow him to lower his ride, but it can also lift the car up an inch over the OEM height for speed bumps and driveways. In addition, the 4-Way Paddle Control air management system provides simple, accurate and smooth adjustment to all four wheels, which is great for use with gauge and pillar pods.

Testing the Limits

With a car like the Mustang GT, it is no wonder Rob was looking for ways to launch better and unleash all the potential power. For this reason, he opted for an MSD Launch Mater Rev Limiter, which connects directly to the factory coils for a seamless install. This rev limited easily sets a launch RPM for consistency and is the most reliable way to launch hard, especially on a dragstrip. This module allows Rob to launch his Mustang between 1,800 and 9,900 RPMs in 100 RPM increments. It allows for better launches resulting in faster 60-foot times and, more importantly, quicker ET/MPH down the quarter mile. When the green LED lights up, Rob can ease off the clutch and prepare for takeoff. Once activated, the set RPM will remain steady and can be adjusted using two rotary dials that are built right onto the module. This product helps keep Rob’s eyes off the tachometer and on more important things.

Extreme Acoustics

When looking for a more extreme sound for his Mustang, Rob knew to look no further than the Corsa Xtreme Axle-Back Exhaust. This race-inspired system offers the most aggressive sound paired with a deep throaty growl that is sure to intimidate the competition. This system is made from 100% stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance and is legal in all 50 states. Corsa’s patented aerospace-grade technology RSC eliminates interior resonance at cruising speed for a more pleasant drive. Apart from the desirable sound, this system delivers jaw-dropping horsepower gains because of the muffler chambers that feature 3-inch mandrel-bent tubing for restriction-free flow. The mirror polished 4-inch Pro-Series tips, that exit in the stock location, add a little extra oomph to the rear valance. Whether at idle or under acceleration, Rob will make his presence known without even trying.

Timeless Appearance

To give his modern-day Mustang a more timeless appeal, Rob installed a color-matched Cervini Cobra R Hood. This hood incorporates the race-inspired classic styling of the Cobra to enhance the appearance of newer Mustangs. It directly replaces the stock hood and features dual rear-screened vents to extract heat and increase the airflow to the car’s engine bay. With the 4-inch raised center cowl, Rob has room to accommodate additional engine mods, should he choose to do so. This hood is manufactured from premium hand-laid fiberglass to increase its durability and withstand the hazards of daily driving for years. The fully finished underside liner adds an extra layer of protection and strength on the inside. A relocation kit is included to reposition the windshield washer squirters and hide them on the underside of the hood. Installation was a breeze, as this hood uses all the existing hardware, hinges and latch system of the stock Mustang GT. Cervini’s Cobra R Hood not only looks great but also maintains functionality; Rob went with the right choice here.
