They say diamonds are forever, but ruby red Mustangs are more fun. AmericanMuscle customer Jose’s 2015 Ford Mustang GT in Ruby Red Metallic looks as precious as its gemstone counterpart. On the exterior, Jose installed a taillight blackout kit, Terex upper and lower grilles, a Roush rear valance, Outlaw rear spoiler, and customized trunk with the name “Corrupted” on it. This beauty has got more than just looks though. It’s lowered on performance springs with a Roush 2.3 Supercharger under the hood and Roush Quad Tip Passive Axle-Back exhaust. 

To achieve that aggressive raspy sound he craved, Jose installed a Roush Quad Tip Passive Axle-Back Exhaust on his GT. This system announces his presence before he even arrives, with its menacing exhaust note that is just the right amount of “noise” you want to emit from American muscle cars. The Roush exhaust utilizes a hollow, open-chambered muffler that provides increased air flow and a unique sound without that annoying, in-cabin resonance normally found with other performance exhausts, especially when cruising. This system is crafted from fully mandrel-bent 304 stainless steel for a durable, long-lasting and corrosion-resistant construction. The two mufflers feature dual wall 4-inch quad tips that have undergone a chrome flashing process to ensure their resistance to discoloration from exhaust heat. This passive system also gives Jose the option of cruising with just the two outer tips or all four tips with its block-off plate feature. This exhaust requires the Roush rear valance, which Jose also purchased for his GT.

To add a more street-inspired look to his ‘Stang, Jose opted to go with the CDC Outlaw rocker side skirts. This series of side skirts feature an intimidating design that goes perfectly with the contoured lines of the Mustang GT. Apart from looking sleek, these side skirts work to direct air to the rear brakes to keep them cool. They are carefully engineered using the original OEM CAD data from Ford to ensure a precise fitment. These side skirts are made from injection-molded, high-strength thermal plastic olefin material, which is known for being super lightweight and highly durable. The factory-styled and grained texture increases its longevity against rock impacts on the roads and freeways. Being impact resistant is just another reason why these side skirts are perfect for the daily driver. Since these come unpainted from the manufacturer, Jose had it painted matte black to give his car some accented appeal.

A car that looks and sound the part is not complete without a fierce stance. That’s why Jose decided to install a set of Ford Performance Street Lowering X-Springs on his Mustang. These springs provide an aggressive, muscular stance, while simultaneously improving overall vehicle handling. The X-Spring kit lowers the center of gravity of Jose’s Mustang, which results in reduced squat during acceleration and less body roll in corners. It also helps eliminate that excessive nose-dive, which can occur during hard braking. These springs lowered the ride height of his GT by about 1 inch all around to get rid of that bothersome 4x4 gap that comes from the factory. They are a progressive spring, which means that they have a progressive spring rate suitable for street cars. These springs will firm up as Jose pushes the car, without giving it an unwanted harsh ride quality. With this kit, he can experience the best of both worlds: comfort and function for daily drives and the occasional track day.

Jose was also looking to eliminate the annoying body roll that can occur from the factory. He opted for a set of Ford Performance front and rear sway bars to improve his Mustang’s overall handling performance. These sway bars greatly tighten up the S550 chassis with a difference that is immediately felt. With these sway bars, Jose experiences improved steering response, heightened cornering speed and more control all around. Crafted from heavy-duty steel for superior strength and reliability, Ford Racing sway bars feature stock-style rubber bushings. This provides a smoother ride without giving any increasing noise, vibration or harshness. Both the front and rears are finished in the famous Ford Racing blue coating that is corrosion-resistant and unmistakable. The front sway bar in this kit measures 36.5mm and the rear is 25mm. This sway bar kit is intended to be installed with the aforementioned Ford Performance Lowering Springs Kit.
